Open Records and Open Meetings
The Kentucky Attorney General has directed County Judge Executives to assure that public agency board members are aware of laws relating to open records and open meetings.
The Kentucky Open Records and Open Meetings Acts per KRS 15.257 is required for all Extension District Board Members to acknowledge a Certificate of Receipt or Distribution annually as well as the Managing Government Records Document . This is accomplished during the January Extension District Board Meeting. Each board member should read and sign the Certificate of Receipt Form, found on the last page of the Ky. Open Records and Open Meetings Act booklet. One copy of the completed certificate must be kept in the County Extension Office and one copy must be sent to the Kentucky Attorney General Office. Your local County Judge Executive may request copies. The Area Extension Directors will assist with this.
